Just saw they are now offering this in a factory load for all you 280 AI fans. Seems like the Americans can't get enough of this round and its going mainstream. I'd like to see a factory rifle chambered in this cool round:D, sure beats the hell out of a 7 mag.

Cheers!!

I had a 280 AI and I couldn't see where it
beat the hell out of the 7Mag".

100 or 200 fps less velocity than a 7Mag doesn't beat the hell out if it either...I guess I could say that my 7-08 "beats the hell out of the 280"..it's about 100-200 fps slower and fits a short action.
One more round in the mag isn't really beating hell out of anything in my book.
I have a 280AI reamer and have built a few but it's not magic.

The 280AI has less case capacity than the 7mmReminton Magnum. It's not going to "beat the ehll out of a 7RM"

I am sure that some handloaders relaly lean on the 280AI, without ever knowing the pressure, though. :p

they should rename it the 7mm Long Action Standard Magnum! my vote for the first factory load would be a 140 grain bullet at around 3167 fps mzzl velocity ;)

nosler brass yes, ammo i doubt it. I was told by a Nosler Sales Rep that there is too much headache and too small of a market in Canada to bother importing their custom ammo up here. the only exception was their Nosler custom rifles that were supposed to be shipped with a few boxes of Nosler ammo so the owner could verify their accuracy claim

Highly doubt you will EVER see it in a big chain store like Walmart or Canadian Tire...finding 280 Remington is hard enough.

I will stick with 7mm Rem Mag. It will ALWAYS be around and you can find it just about anywhere that sells ammo.
