Factory 30-06 for moose.

Well, the 30-06 has accounted for many moose for me.
I usually have used the 165 or 180 Partition in handloads.
I shot about a half dozen with the old-design Winchester 180 gr Silvertip.
Always did the job well.
Last year's Bull fell to a 168 TTSX from my 308 Norma Mag.
As some posters have already said, make sure you put the bullet in the correct place.
Then the hard work begins!
Regards, Eagleye.

Just about any decent soft point load for the .30-06 will work wonders. If you can get someone to load ya a good load utilizing the Hornady 220 grain round nose soft point, you will fall in love. That thing is like shooting them with a fencepost.

So far I got 180gr Nosler ballistic silvertips and winchester bonded powerpoint just waiting to shoot them. I had some 180gr SST's but my rifle didn't really like them. I am still trying to get some Supreformance 180gr Interbonds..
