factory 455 Colt

Best bet would likely be to post what you need and ask.

Fiocchi makes several of the old-time cartridges, but they are new production. Cheaper than original ammo and it goes BANG! every time, too. 8mm Roth-Steyr 8mm Lebel Revolver 9mm Steyr, .455 Mark II, few more.

On the other hand, you can always make your own for most types.

Depends on condition. Last box I bought was kind of ratty so I only paid $30 for it. - dan

Depends on whether a collector wants it.
IF the box is in good shape it is worth more.
I would pay equal to what Fiochi is sold for in the stores if the ammo is not corroded or stained.
Modern cases $30- $50.00 per box. Old balloon head cases = collector bullets.

If its longer Colt Domion 455 thats in a good condition yellow box id say $50 to $80.
I have about 8 boxes of that Colt 455 Domion ammo i like it, its got more thump than Fiochhi maby cause of the longer cases.

BTW, that ammo is way too hot for Webley's.

Yes it is pretty hot stuff but the webley MKVI seems to handle it ok.
allot of it is shot in MKVIs
I only shoot it in my MKII** which is a MKII rebuilt by webley with MKV screws and Cylinder and barrel but only once in awhile do i shoot it in that gun..
mainly shoot it in my solid frame 1878 DA Colt thats 455 and a remy 1875 i have thats 455/45 schofield with a new cylinder installed.

I have shot it in a regular antique MKII but i stopped as i thought it would loosen up the gun as the stuff has a real kick to it compared to fiochhi and hornady.

Well, it does say of a box of Dominion .455 colt the following.... " For use in British Service Revolver no. 1 ( Marks 1, II, III,IV, V and V ) and other revolvers designated 455, 455 ELEY AND 455 WEBLEY MARK 11 ". I shot six of my remaing factory rounds ove the chrony and the factory listed specs check out bang on the money, and why wouldn,t they.... I am sure that CIL would not purposely leave themselves open to lawsuits :) has anyone had a chance to play with Buffalo Arms manufactured .455 Colt Cases ????

What did the .455 Colt Dominion ammo chronograph at?

As they are pretty hot, why hurt your poor old antique revolver with them? The things were made for black powder for the early marks.

BTW, that ammo is way too hot for Webley's.

I recently purchased a 1917 S&W complete with reloads. The previous owner reloaded the ammo using .44 special data - way over the pressures generated in the MUCH smaller volume .455 webley cartridge case.
There is NO WAY I would shoot that stuff in any gun - modern or antique.

Does anybody know how hot are the Hornady factory loads? I can't seem to find any information on the pressure, the box says muzzle velocity is 686 fps but that's the only info I've got for sure.
don't know if I want to fire it in my antique without knowing.
