Anyone know of any factory 8 twist 243's out there?? I want to re-barrel one to a 243 AI, but want to launch everything from 70-105gr leads and was told an 8 twist is needed. Now I know I can re-barrel one, but would like to re-chamber a factory one first and make sure its what I need/want. From there if its not, I can do something else when I re-barrel it. If it is then I can throw another AI on. The closest thing ive found is a remington 700 VLS 26" tube with a 9.25 twist. Tikka is a 10 twist. Any others that are closer to 8?

Used a Benchmark 1:7 twist 24 inch barrel on a trued Remington action for mine. Works well with 90 through to heaviest available. Real accuracy as well.
I appreciate the longer, heavier bullets and their bit of extra wind resistance, however for hunting deer I normally just go to the 105 grain bullets and keep my shots as close as I prefer.

My HB 6mm Remington sports a Benchmark with a 1-8" twist, and works with pretty well all bullets
except the 115 grainers. It also shoots the lighter pills very well, so I am pleased.
Factory 1-8" twist rifles are rare. Eagleye.
