factory ammo for Patternamster Extended range ported choke.

It seems like when you dish out for a really expensive choke you have to then hunt for a very specific load that it likes. What should a Patternmaster extended tube like for ammo? I'm not happy with BlackCloud 3'' BB flex-wad
Might it be that the high end chokes like the low end plane-jane ammo? This patternmaster choke has the stud ring inside to slow the wad down agressivly...

I know some people will say just patter the gun; but I'm looking for a baseline where to start, Challenger, Kent, etc.?

Many manufacturers of waterfowl loads are coming up with newer, more elaborate designs in their wad technology. Some are designing their wads to stay with the shot longer to keep it intact longer in flight, others have cutaways to "strip" the wad earlier to separate gas/shot interference. The Patternmaster, as you mentioned is non-constrictive and designed to strip the wad from the shot earlier. It's my understanding some of these elaborate wad designs don't play well with the Patternmaster, or the as least the aftermarket choke is countering the results of the specialized wads (that you paid good money for in your premium loads). You should also confirm that the particular loads you're going to test are recommended for ported chokes. I would try Kents -- I've never not been happy with Kent ammo.
That said, I've been there.. Patternmaster, Wad Wizard, Terror, Kicks etc etc... in the end my best result is factory modified (SBEII) with Kent silversteel.

Just for fun I have used the Code Black Goose and Code Black Duck Patternmaster tubes for trapshooting. They certainly produce a dense pattern! I actually like them quite a lot - have to admit, though, I haven't hunted with them.
I have noticed that after about 300 rounds of trap ammunition the tubes have a lot of plastic build-up around the studded ring inside. Make sure you keep them well cleaned.

I use Kent 3" #2 in my SX-3 , using a Patternmaster Code Black Goose. The patterns at 50 yards are quite good.

Out to 40 yards, no problem at all.

They recommend larger shot like #2,BB or larger through their chokes. BBs out of mine seem to make ducks appear like they hit a brick wall mid-air. Poof of feathers. Direct impact.
