My Savage 12BVSS-S is coming this week and hopefully I will get it to the range next weekend.
I am new to this and will learn on factory ammo for now. Handloading will come but not for awhile..
So any advice on what factory ammo shoots well in this rifle? Preferably something I can get at Reliable Gun or Italian Sporting Goods.
Thanks.

If I remember correctly they only come in .223 and .22-250? In which case the Winchester value pack ammunition from walmart is actually really good, surprisingly. I can get sub MOA with 3 shots using this stuff, which is excellent for 45gr. bullets on factory loads out of my 1:9 twist 12FVSS.

Just remember for the price of about 10 boxes of premium or match ammo you can set yourself up with a good reloading kit. You may want to think about getting into handloading sooner than you think.

Geez...ooops .223
I realize handloading will be the way to go and something I'll enjoy but I'm just looking for something decent to get me started (and provide the brass for some loading).

Do the walmarts in the lower mainland have ammunition?
