Hey guys and gals,

I have a Springfield XD9 Tactical :dancingbanana:. I would like to know what factory load works best and brand? It's for target shooting presently and later on for competiton. I'm also looking for a distributor for ammo. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Factory ammo? Haven't used any for a long time. Personally I like Federal red box (Am. Eagle) but my XD9 liked the CCI Blazer Brass better. Win White Box worked good too, but it was kinda dirty unless you get the WinClean ones. Haven't tried WinClean myself but a lot of people seem to like it. A lot seem to like the Speer Lawman ones, too. WinClean and Speer are a little more $, though.

Buy a box of each and try them out and see which yours likes best. You're still getting trigger time in so it's not really a waste of $ experimenting with the different brands.

Unless you are shooting ISSF or PPC match @ 50Y, pretty much any factory ammo will outshoot you.

So my advise would be to buy whatever strike your fancy... and practice, practice and practice some more! (Don't forget to focus on the front sight, constant grip pressure, focus on the front sight, slowly squeeze the trigger, focus on the front sight...)

And last but not least...

Have fun,
Mike.

Thanks a lot for the info. I'll do that and try different ammo out.

Thanks Mike for the info. Later on there'll be some pics.

Gotta love the good old "I haven't tried it" recommendation.

Classic.

Heh, heh, heh... I know, eh? Well, I was just passing on info that others keep saying I should try it. I've picked up enough of their brass and see how shiny it still is. For me, I can't justify the extra cost over plain Winchester since I don't shoot factory ammo too much.
