Has anyone here used any of the reduced recoil loads manufactured by Hornady, Federal, or Remington on big game?
I noticed my local Canadian Tire now has them in stock (I was looking at the Hornady load in .308 to be specific) and I couldn't help but wonder how effective they were. A search on Google says they are meant for Deer size game up to 200 yards and that they reduce recoil by 43%.
I don't have a problem handling the regular .308 ammo, but if it kicks less and works just as well then why not? Pretty much the same price as the standard loads anyway. Any thoughts?

I'd feel 50% less confident about any shot on game knowing that my ammo could be that far below par with what it could be

I get what you guys are saying in regards to the amount of power the round generates. Hornady's site states that the toned down .308 ammo is similar in performance to their standard .243 load, travelling at 2100 fps and hitting with 1238 ft-lbs at 200 yards pushing a 125 grain SST.
Anyhow the idea has me curious and I might pick up a box or two. Should make a fun range round at the very least.
