Hi

I saw the prices at factory sales. They are cheaper than here
Has anyone dealt with them before?
How much do they usually charge for shipping?
are there extra charges at the canadian customs?

is it worth buying for them to save or will it endup to be the same price as here?

I've purchased from Greg at Factory Sales several times. Great service and package arrived in Ontario 7 days after ordering.

The shipping charge will depend on how much stuff you buy, and the customs Charges are the same. You will be charged duty by Canada Customs on the amount of your order at the rate of your provinces taxes and GST plus a $5 charge so you must take this into account. If you just need a single tool, mold or die you won't likely save, but if you're buying a kit or two or a bunch of stuff (or group buy) there's no one else cheaper. Remember you will have to pay tax and shipping almost anywhere you order, so in this case the lower retail of Factory Sales makes them the cheapest. Most stuff is anywhere from 20-50% less.

i was actually on there yesterday (and talked to the guy on the phone for 5mins too) and you can get the shipping fee as you go through the checkout - you can always bail at the last minute if it ends up being too costly to ship. i priced out a kit plus dies, turrets, and other junk, and S&H was $60. before shipping, their price for all the stuff i was looking at was around $320 US, whereas Higginsons was around $530 CDN. on top of either, add either shipping or fuel costs to drive to pick it up, and the exchange rate, plus taxes either way. overall, seems to be around 30% cheaper.

no idea on duty though, but i'm thinking that since it's MADE IN THE USA, the NAFTA ought to make it ZERO. and even if it doesn't, is it likely to be less than 30%? i would hope so....

Any US made reloading tools I have purchased and shipped to Ontario were taxed at the rate of sales tax (13%HST etc) plus a $5 customs fee. There are no additonal duties because they are US goods but there is still local sales tax applied.

$100 reloading tool
$13 tax
$5 Customs Charge

$118 to my door (plus shipping charge)

"...Factory Sales..." Who?
"...shipping charge will depend..." Shipping charges are set by the carrier, not the seller. Goes by the weight, size of the package and distance. Customs will collect PST and GST.
Remember that some stuff requires the U.S. export permit. Reloading equipment does not. Components do.

Factory Sales is a company in the Hartford, WI that sells all Lee reloading tools. They are cheaper than almost any other company that sells Lee gear. I would imagine the main reason for they're low prices is the fact that they pick up the product from the factory (also in Hartford) instead of shipping it to themselves first.

Yes, shipping charges will depend on how much you buy. It will cost more to ship three reloading kits than one die set, but some companies start with a minimum charge above what the carrier charges, especially for international orders so small orders are not always at a savings.

I just got a bunch of stuff from Factory Sales last week. I'm fortunate enough to live right by the border. I ordered $220.00 worth of gear and paid only $20.00 to ship to the border.

I was going down to states with the family for a long weekend, so I picked up the gear and continued down to my destination. Coming back I didn't have a dime to pay at the border since I was in the states for 4 days. I didn't count time/gas/lodging, etc, since I was going there anyways.

Saved a ton of money. The gear I picked out was almost $400.00 here.

If you can make it work to save on shipping some how, it really pays.

The company was great to deal with. Nice easy transaction, and everything came that I ordered (no back-orders). I'm looking at adding to my equipment collection in December when I go down for a few days around Christmas. Going to get a classic turret press and all the gear needed to make it run.

Later.........
