Factory Steel Cased Winchester 9mm Split Case

Factory Steel Cased Winchester 9mm 115gn Split Case this past weekend. Shooting a NR Berretta CX4 Storm 9mm rifle and spent case failed to eject but bullet fired normally sounding and hit steel gong. Used cleaning rod to push out and found almost the whole side of the case split open but not quite to the end. Checked and cleaned chamber and barrel nothing fouled so not sure what happened shot the rest of the box of 150 rounds off with no more issues. Anybody have similar issue with this ammo or any other brand?
 
It has a greyish coating that is dirty comes off on your fingers. I only bought 2 boxes of 150 rounds each to try when it was on sale. Normally use Warpak, Remington, Blazer and Winchester brass so I can reload. Reload using red dot and bullseye.
 
Thats not unheard of for steel case, sucks that it didn’t extract. I’ve run that stuff through my M&P without issue, found a lot of split cases while cleaning up.
 
I wouldn't be buying anymore of that stuff if I was you. and I would have taken it all back to the store and told them to send it back . Plus I would have sent a letter off to Winchester.
