FAIR combination gun

Combination gun can be useful, not really fond of the notion of rimless cartridges in it though. Much prefer to stick to rimmed rounds, for myself. How strong the FAIR O/U actions are, for higher pressure rifle cartridges like a 308/30-06 may be another question, as to loosening up down the road, which would kill resale value. Most of the rimmed cartridges run a bit lower pressure, and will still kill stuff inside 300yds quite nicely. Guess it depends on how much shooting you will do with it, whether or not you reload, and what you want to do with it, as to how long it will take to loosen up and whether or not, other cartridges are practical for you.

I don't have a combination gun but I do have a FAIR Safari 500, which is actually one of their rifle actions.
I have a set of 20 gauge barrels for it as well.
it's very strong, and combination guns have been used for many, many years.
I would not worry about it loosening up unless you plan to do some high volume sshooting with it, in which case any rifle is going to wear eventually.

I had a Valmet 412 in 12ga./30.06 at one time. Pretty cool for a brush gun but owing to their design it was not an accurate piece for longer range shots if encountered but it was a great deer and moose doggers bush gun. Short, easy to carry and lightning fast to shoulder.

I have a FAIR prestige in 45/70 over 45/70 w a set of 28g a barrels. well made gun but think it's time for it to spend some time with someone else :)
