Has anyone heard of people selling fake or counterfeit bushnell scopes? Im asking this because ive found a couple scopes on ebay for prices i think are just a bit of a to good to be true situation. For examples:

NIB Bushnell Elite 3200 3-9x40 Matte Firefly 32-3946M $180 shipped

and then you have the same one for $228 shipped.
New BUSHNELL Elite 3200 Riflescope 32-3946M 3-9X40 FFly

depends how the sellers get hold of them. thats only a $48 difference, which could be the mark up that a retailer would add on once it comes from the wholesaler/distributor.
20-25% mark up that doesnt need to be added if he gets them at wholesale pricing and then sells direct - he still makes his margin and gets the sales because hes $50 cheaper than retailers.

NIB Bushnell Elite 3200 3-9x40 Matte Firefly 32-3946M $180 shipped

Lebaron has them for $229.45 + tax after 10% discount....I have not heard of any fakes...so $180 shipped is a good price...

There are fakes on e-bay , But I do not belive they are in the elite line . One thing to to check is look where they are comming from ............china????? also if you see a scope check the bushnell site to see if they make it .

from the seller details...
"
The items we sell come from Insurance claims, Store returns, Unclaimed goods, Consignment etc."

still..says new in box...
That is a pretty sweet price...165 for pickup...

There are fakes for sure. Especially direct from China, although I wouldn't put it past someone to resell them from the US on ebay. Even the documentation, packaging and warranty will be 100%. Its fake in the sense that its grey market, not sold by Bushnell, and may or may not have all the same quality that the "real" Bushnell has. Likely went out the back door of the same factory that builds them for Bushnell. I bought one from China and its fine for a 22 rimfire, but has inferior optics. About the best I can think of is to buy from someone who is a reputable dealer if you want to be sure.

Ya i think i might just buy one from a dealer instead just to be on the safe side. But damnnnn i love those ebay prices!

yes they sell clones 20% of them are clones on ebay, i have some clones right now they look real close to the same , i sold some on my site saying knockoff , and i was selling them for 59-69 they where good on .22

A fake Bushnell would probably be about as good as a real Bushnell.

LMFAO! Probably better! :D

I've been seeing some really good deals on scopes on ebay. I got a Simmons shotgun scope for my .22 for $24 from a Canadian dealer off ebay and everywhere else it's listed for over $100. Do they make Simmons clones too?

Recently bought a used Weaver K4 off a guy for $20 off ebay! Funny how it works there, I seen a bidding war on a Weaver 2.5x and it ended up selling for $120

Fake for sure!
and not just on ebay but here on E.E

i bought a new Bushnell dusk&dawn 3-9-50mm R/G reticles on E.E last year ,
original box+Genuine warranty and all instruction paper , put on my win70 and try some bullet at the range. a few month later ...ready for my hunting trip so another few bullet at the range ,when i open the cap to put battery i saw the rubber o-ring out ,btw 1 or 2 turn for open lumined reticle and the rubber broke!
some rubber particule are now visible from inside the scope

i have post a thread about this on Gunsmithing forum and some of you tell me to contact busnell canada!

that what i did

here bushnell email:
Hello Steven,

You can send in your riflescope for assessment. We cannot confirm if any cost will be involved without seeing the scope first but it may very likely be covered under warranty. Please be advised that we are in the middle of our busiest season so the turnaround time may be up to 6 months from the time we receive it.

The address to send it to is:
Bushnell Outdoor Products
25A East Pearce Street
Richmond Hill, ON
L4B 2M9

Please include a note inside the box with your full name and complete mailing address.
We suggest you use a courier service that provides you with a tracking number.

so i ship the scope and after 5 month i received this email:eek:
Hello Steven,

Your scope was just processed recently and unfortunately, we had no recourse but to return it to you unrepaired.
It seems that you have been sold a counterfeit scope. It is not a legitimate Bushnell product. We have seen a handful of scopes similar to yours and we have confirmed that model 76-3950E R/G is not a valid Bushnell model number and is definitely not part of the Bushnell Banner family of riflescopes.
We are only authorized to repair Bushnell, Tasco, Bausch & Lomb, Browning and Jason riflescopes and binoculars, therefore in cases like this, we can only return it back to you as is, and request that you take up the matter with the vendor who sold it to you. Would you mind telling us where you purchased this scope?

Regards,
Repair Lab
