Fake Can?

Here is mine:

Also an airsoft can. I wasn't a big fan of the long skinny non-restricted barrel so adding the fake can makes it's appearance much more appealing, at least to me.

The only thing I think I'm missing is gas block with a front site post.

Lol ........ here is mine.... i managed to cover the gasblock too...... looks more neat this way i think..... ok i'm off to the range....

How are the fake cans holding up when the barrel gets hot from lot's of shooting? Any warping or any other issues?

I was out at the range last week, went through 500-600 rounds on her with no ill effects. No warping, and as far as negative effects on accuracy, I was easily clover leafing shots at 50 meters with a red dot and poor eyes (yes, from the bench, and no, I don't have pics ;)). I am really liking this rifle, time to go buy more ammo!

Well, i finally took some decent pictures of my gun in it's near final config.
The fake can came from 007airsoft and is the dual-threaded model. Came with both a M14x1RH adapter and a M14x1LH, plus an end-cap. But I had to file the end-cap so that it goes over the barrel.
The front sight base has been taken off. The can is currently being held by a CNCwarrior jam nut and a combination of 242 loctite + epoxy glue.
At first, i had put a bit of loctite, but after the first 20 rds, it started to loosen up, so epoxy was needed.
I've now done a full service rifle match (215 rds) with no issues whatsoever.

Great Pictures! I have a MFIAP FAKE can that I was saving for a project .. Im thinking that the barrel shroud idea is still a good one. A non restricted rifle is always the best idea!
