I am sorta baffled by the length of this thread and what the motive is all about by Skirsons?

Is it buyers remorse?
If you're not happy, you don't have to drag it out on the internet. It's between you and the seller (IE:Telephone), not you and the world.

Is it "I got something but I don't know what"?

After a 3 day inspection (not 3 weeks, not 3 years or 3 milleniums), you should have your sh/t together and know if you are keeping it. Either sh/t or get off the pot.

Research before you buy and commit. Use the "Internet" and save us all some grief.

I just wanted to know if the experts on here thought it was real or a fake and to get additional information that I might not get otherwise. Also I know people here appreciate pictures fake or not. If it was a real capture I think it was money well spent. If it was a fake, as it appears to be, then I guess I have the option of returning it.

Sorry John. They were on Marstars site and I did call them to buy it. I suppose its like they were consigned?

Did you buy it specifically for the WaA markings or to pick up the M44 by itself ?

If she is not counter bored, refurbed, or in terrible shape, she should be a straight shooter. You may even change your mind after you take her to the range for a test shooting.

As a good friend once told me: "Buy the rifle, not the story". As long as you are happy with it, does it matter what others think of the rifle ?

I bought it for the markings not the story. And I would happily keep it only I paid over $500 with shipping for it.
