Fakes/Forgeries and Scullduggery

The K98k is a refurb. I guarantee it. No manufacturer put a stamped front band, milled rear band and flat buttplate on the same rifle when new.

Also, I think the reinforcing crossbolt through the pistolgrip was part of the Yugo refurb process if there were any hairline cracks in the stock trigger assembly. Mine has one too...

Great looking picture regardless of what is real or not Klunk!!

It might be a rebuild but not by much

It sure isnt 'scrubbed'

Its more than 'perfect enough for me...and I had money left over for ammmmo

Also...BBOTW says BYF 44's SHOULD have milled upper and lower bbl bands

too bad I was so late for this one. Those stripper clips are czech. And that tan water jacket is made of very wrong material. draw string should not be camo. but nice stuff.

Only for low serial numbers...........

I have extensive reference pics on a righteous byf-44 Serial # 54836-K out of Bob in Ohio's collection. It is a stamped upper and lower bands. In fact, everything is stamped and it also has a cupped butt plate.

EDIT: BTW klunk.... you're right... she's not altered much. Good clean receiver and barrel markings for byf-44. Good condition and a nice example of a later war K98k.... congratulations... hard to find these things up here. ... :)

Badger

BTW, i completley forgot, this is completely off topic, but...

i have a k98k, which is a duv41 "i" series all matching, very proud, :p

anywho, claven said... many moons ago, that the cupped butt plate on it was a clash/miss fit, since it didnt match according to the backbone of the wehrmacht book, i have later found out, that only the "i" series had cupped butt plates. plus the cupped butt plate is matching to the rifle, so ive been wondering about that for a while, since i stumbled upon this recent information.

ill try and find where i found it...

just remembered that now. :p

back to topic at hand.

Gun Snobs:rolleyes:

Im takin my ball and goin home...

as for the 'marsh' pattern parka...I thought it was a pretty good copy in terms of fabric. The seller allowed me to handle an original that it had been patterned after and fabric was similiar (the original had the groovy 'Im old' feel)

and the draw string CAN be camo
