Anyone own/have any experience with either the Falcon Ergo, or
Mag-Pul MIAD grips for the AR?

Unfortunately I bought a Tango Down Battle Grip - it seems like it's sized for your average twelve year old, and doesn't fit very well on the rifle, to boot. I wear a size 11 glove, and would like a grip that gives a little more "reach" to the trigger.

If you have anything constructive to add, please let me know.

Thanks,

jc

I have switched out all my AR's to the MIAD.

It allows you to tailor the front and backstrap to you hand -- and also has a version that allows the body as well and Front and Back straps to have friction tape added to increase grippability...

The MIAD grip is the most comfortable grip I have used. I have some minor reservations about its durability, though...not a problem for "civilian" use, but I doubt it will stand up to harsh field conditions.
KB: Do you know by any chance if the new Production MIAD grip comes with a pin to retain the backstrap?

I realize that the MIAD comes with several sized front and back straps, but can anyone tell me, from personal experience, if the MIAD (in it's largest "incarnation"), is appreciably bigger than the Ergo? They both look like good grips.

I've tried the Hogue and pachmayr and went back to the A2 grip. Why mess with success? The Miad is nice, I'm sure, but frankly I see no reason to not use the A2 grip - it works just fine.

There is nothing wrong with the A2 grip...except for the 'spur' on the front strap. It just isn't in the right place for me, which is why is went to the MIAD grip...similar feel to the A2 and has a replaceable front strap with no 'spur'.

I'm with 6-star -- the nub just pisses me off - especially when moving with the weapon or using it in gloves.

I liked the hogue for shooting w/o gloves -- but I have learned my lessons on that one and NEVER shoot w/o gloves now

If the nub is so bad, you could also use an A1 grip - doesn't get more simple and idiot proof than that! ;)

By the way - what lesson you learn about gloves? I honestly never shoot with gloves - am I missing something vital?

I’ve gone from A2 to A1 to Tango Down BG-16 and finally to the MAID. I was happy with the BG-16 but decided to get a MAID based on my experience with all the other Magpul products I’ve used. Out of the bunch, I prefer the MAID and it stays on my M4. The BG-16 has moved over to my A2.

Jay I have magpul MIAD's on my 3 AR's they fit better than the A2's that were on the rifles .I find the MIAD's extremly comfortable to handle I have set my grips up for my large hands, but then again I like the Sully stocks on the AR's

same , tryed them all, houge A2 is the best for me
al lthe combat shotguns i build with the S&J hardware stock adaptor, we use the houge.
