After reading the reviews last year by Hungry and others, I ordered the above scope from Allen Gun Works. I had mounted a low powered Leupold on the rifle last year and it was too low powered - I couldnt tell if the deer that was in the brush had antlers or not, so when I picked up my binos I breathed on them and fogged them
So I didnt get the shot.
The scope seemed to have everything I wanted - lit dot in the centre and a heavy reticle for hunting in the bush, and a medium amount of magnification.
Took the rifle out today after I mounted the scope - overall I am very pleased. Good clear optics, easy to focus, crisp clicks when adjusting the scope. The scope has adequate relief when firing heavy loads in this rifle - I did get the hat brim bit a couple of times
I am using some stout reloads with H322 and Hornady 265 grain bullets, so I wanted a fairly strong set of rings - I picked up a set of medium Burris tactical rings off the EE and used them:
All in all I am pleased with the scope. On one shot, the red light went out - after opening up and readjusting the battery, it worked fine. Not the best pic of the reticle:
Things I dont like - the flip up scope caps are pretty cheap and will be replaced (Hungry - your post got deleted with the appropriate Butler Creek ones so I will have to measure and check the chart). The green dot is useless in any light - I was shooting on my lunch break in overcast skies and drizzle and you couldnt see the dot. the red dot worked well though and thats what i will use.
Heading out Friday for the Saturday opener - so if I get a deer I will post pictures as well.
