Falcon Optics M18 4-18x44 Mil/Mil FFP http://frontierfirearms.ca/hfgh.html.
From few reviews I've seen online, it seems it tracks alright and holds zero. Reviewer claim turrets and sharpness is better than the predecessors. Optical clarity would be between Leopold VX-3 and Mark 4. Warranty is 10 years.

There are two reviews on Youtube and some info on reddit about it. This is why I ask additional info here. Anyone has tried it? Would you buy it?

Haven't tried this one, but I had one of the older Falcon Menace FFP scopes. It was OK for the money. I wouldn't buy one again unless it was to put it on a .22lr. I'd spend the extra few hundred on a Weaver Tactical or Vortex Viper. I'd also be skeptical to claims of it matching up to higher end Leupolds in optical clarity. VX-3's and Mark 4's are pretty comparable in lens quality and types of coatings, so not sure how you could tell if it was between them.

sorry, but aint no way that falcon 500$ scope is equal to a 1k+ leupold.
I've got an older model falcon 4-14 and it aint anywhere near close to the resolution of my leupolds let alone my sightron s3.

Its a decent entry level scope, but the 5-20 or whatever power versions were craptastic in the extreme.
i'll know next week since a guy at my club got one of those and we're going to sight it in.

That's what I've read about the older model 5.5-25 model, i was not great when pushing too high the magnification. From what I've read, the M18 (4-18x44) is a new model and is supposed to be an improvement for both turrets tracking (more positive and accurate) and optical quality over the older 4-14 and 5.5-25. Let me know what you think about it when you will have tried it.

I've been using Falcon's for about 10 years now, and I like them. I currently own 3 of them, all on .308 rifles.

They are not a comparable scope to a $1,000+ Leupold / Sightron / Vortex. However, they are a reasonable quality scope for the money. I have the older version of the 4-18x44, and the turrets were not ideal, a little numb on the positive click side, but like most things you get use to it until you use a $3,000 scope.

If it is considered an improvement over the older version, I would buy it at that price.

Candocad.

ok, heres my review of a falcon m18 ffp scope. Guy at my club has it mounted on his rem 700 in an AI stock.
I compared it against my old falcon 4-14, 1/8moa scope and also a vxiii 6.5-20. My vxiii is good but not as good in terms of resolution or brightness compared to my sightron s3 6.5-20.

I am strictly comparing resolution using an eyechart at 200m, and brightness. I cannot speak to its durability/toughness, so i wont. I will say that my falcon is 8-9yrs old and been moved around from a norc m14 thru various 308 bolt guns for approx 1k rounds and no issues yet.

Used nosler custom comp 168gr w/ 43gr reloader 15, as well as his varget 42gr hornady 168gr.
shooting at silverdale 100/200, total overcast grey/hazy, drizzle/light rain.

In a nutshell this scope is head and shoulders improved over my old falcon, it was a wow this is way better glass situation.

resolution: no contest against the old falcon, compared favourably to the vxiii, not quite as sharp, but not anywhere near expensive either.

brightness: even though both are 42 or 44mm? it was no contest that the m18 was waaaay brighter image, compared favourably to the vxiii.

turrets: nice sharp clicks easy to feel.

If this scope can get over the QC issues that have dogged them with the previous generation of scopes then I would definitely get one if i was on a budget. It does offer alot of features, but with all of the budget tactical scopes on the market, its got alot of pissed off former owners which may be impossible, to win away from the bushnells/vortex/SS etc lines.

so if its durability is comparable to the leup/bushnells etc. which only time will tell then i'd definitely get one if i couldnt afford a leup/sightron.

Personally i'm a leupold and now sightron guy. All the guys at my club talk #### about leupolds, though none own any, and blow smoke up the ass of their nikon monarchs. Nikon may make a great camera lens, but i aint impressed by their rifle scopes. And they are unable to tell me how many nikon monarchs or any model have been approved and adopted by any army.

I'd say to wait a while to see what the durability of these scopes are, but I liked the glass quality, especially at that price point.

And they are unable to tell me how many nikon monarchs or any model have been approved and adopted by any army.

At this time Nikon is a hunting scope and we do not sell commercially to any military, keep in mind in Japan they don't technically have an army themselves. However the Canadian military uses all Nikon camera gear and lenses everywhere they go. :)

update:

scope has self destructed. Lasted several hundred rounds of 308 from a rem 700 in an AI stock. Firing his rifle at silverdale, it was unable to hold a group, Rounds were going into 4-5in area, I was hoping that the new falcons had improved the durability over the old 50-25's, but i guess not.
