FAMAE SG-542 Range Report

[Mumbles Marble Mouth]

Finally got to familiarize myself with my new FAMAE. This is a very fun gun to shoot. Like most reports have said, the gun shoots about 3" at 100 with bulk surplus ammunition. Didn't have anything better to try it with. So here is the pictures of the targets. Ammo used was 145gr MFS and also unknown grain Chinese 7.62x51. I can't really tell which one shoots better.

First group. MFS 5 shots.



2 groups of Chinese. 5 each group. Total of 10 shots.



Best Group. 5 shots. 1 flyer.



Best Group measured. Measured without flyer.

100 meters

I used all 6 magazines today. None of the magazines had issues. Zero malfunctions. 100rds fired though it. Couldn't miss the 200 meter steel plate. Two thumbs up. Big smile on my face. Was well worth selling 15 guns to own it. lol

I've only been to POCO and VGC. This is also only my second visit to POCO while I've only been to VGC three times so I don't have much of an experienced opinion on the ranges in the area. All I can tel you is I've enjoyed my two trips to POCO so far. This time was a lot funner for a very obvious reason. Give POCO a try. Its $25 for the drop in fee. Don't need cash either. They have debit set up. They sell targets, hearing, and eye protection if you happen to forget your own.

Very nice looking gun......not impressed with the accuracy at all :O especially for the $2600 i see them selling for. But then again, your shooting open sights and cheap ammo, you should scope that girl and feed her some decent bang, and report back to us with the results ! thanks for your review, interesting.

I should of mentioned the rifle was bench rested, unsupported for 100 meters. The rest I had was too low for shooting past 50 meters.

I'm currently staying in the country where they're made and regular peons aren't allowed to have them lol I had to get a 22lr upper for my AR so I could import it legally. Still kept the (now useless) Miculek comp for the looks
