Famae SG540 AR Mag conversions

The Famae mag is in my opinion better than AR mags. Only problem is price but how many mags does someone realistically need anyways?

From my understanding the ar mags need a notch cut in them so they function with the Famae magazine latch. No big deal right?

Problem being that once you make the modification to a 10 round pistol mag you no longer have a legal pistol mag as the design has been changed. Same theory as the E-Lander 10 round mags having the hole put in them for proper function in the M-14.

I've thought about the ar mag conversion for my sg540 but see no point if you are still limited to 5 rounds.

If I'm wrong about this please prove me wrong. I would love to be able to get 10 rounds legally out of my Famae
 
I bought it and I am having the same problems. But they say some bolt releases may need to be shorten. I just did that but have not had a chance to see if that worked

The AR mags are actually the weakest part of the design.
Unless you have to, stick with the canada ammo mags for sure.
