Famae SG543: where’d you go?

So I can find SG540’s and 542’s for sale at a few shops across the country, but no SG543’s.

What’s the story? Did I miss a thread buried somewhere that explains how the 543 became prohibited after a rousing, late night game of “Pin the Tail on the Next Gun to Prohibit for an Inexplicable Reason” down at the Lab?

Those SG543’s sure are pretty.

I think most people purchase the 540 or 542 for their nonrestricted status. 543 not very popular.

Got mine off of the EE a couple years ago for a steal, but had some reliability issues with it. Turns out the bolt catch spring was bent and needed to be replaced. Contacted TI and their estimated lead time for a parts shipment was 1-2 years. I just bent the spring back into shape and it seems to be working for now, but buyer beware parts are basically unavailable.

They do look nice though

Thanks for the good info. I’ve heard similar stories about the parts availability. If they didn’t look so sweet, I’d not be interested, but the general shape and presence they have just does something for me. Makes me think of the GI Joes I had when I was a kid.... ahhh, who am I kidding, I still have GI joes. Haha

ERE is a ghost company now, they dont even answer any emails anymore. If anyone do have a direct phone line to them, please let me know.

You don't need to remove the flash hider. Just retract the piston slightly, then push forward and rotate the front sight block.

We had a single 543 listed for like for like two years, nobody wanted the restricted one.

FYI we will be doing a famae order in January, SAF's 54X, parts, accessories, etc. When the time comes be sure to contact us to get on board since we only do an order once every 1-2 years.

You can pre-order whatever you'd like

Yes sir. I'd advise checking stock of what is already in country though first. Don't want to wait for the shipment to come in if another dealer has what you're looking for already
