I have a mini-mauser action 223,, that I am getting rebarreled with a 1:8 barrel for shooting heavier bulles. How will this fair for shooting lighter bullets?

Here is a Dan Lilja article on the effect of twist. Essentially bullet imbalance causes the the bullet to wobble. The more spin the more wobble. The better balanced the bullet the less wobble. So high spin will exaggerate the inaccuracy of poorly made bullets.

Bullet Imbalance and Twist

Look at his numbers. They are not huge, especially for a hunting gun.

Stabalizing the longer bullets is my main concern..It doesn't stabalize the longer bullets that Barnes, and Nosler(partitions) have available.

I was just wondering how the tight twist would effect the accuracy of lighter bullets.

My 1 in 7 AR shoots 55gr bullets just fine. It also works well with the 22LR adapter and 40gr bullets.
