I'm thinking about a Ranch rifle also.

What's that rail included? Is the latest stock drilled for a 6 o'clock rail?

Seems unanimous that the accuracy is improved with the "new" tapered barrel. But the finish quality decreased when they first released this generation. Did it improve since 2008?
Is the steel nice?
Is there molding line and machining marks on the receiver?

Mine has nothing like that, the only thing to note is you'll want to find a replacement gas bushing, it throws brass 40 feet or more.

Hell that look like a nice scope rail!

With the rail you can use the sights so if I mount a scope I'll use QD rings like ARMS or Larue.

If you want a reddot I suggest an Ultimak rail so you'll be able to cowitness your sight througt it.
