Pics would be awesome and here are the questions:

Who makes it?

What did it cost?

Where did you buy it?

What makes it so good?

If you have a couple favorites for different purposes that would be imteresting to hear about too.

no pics but : http://images1.opticsplanet.com/180-180-ffffff/opplanet-pachmayr-pistol-grip-forend-kit-02808.png

Pachmyr vindicator ( terrible name)
paid 60 bucks for it and the rear pistol grip
bought it at nosale sports
I didn't want a lot of sh*t hanging off of my fore end, I wanted a clean, sleek look and feel.
-the rubber is nice and grippy with bare hands or gloves,
-doesn't overlap the receiver, which makes clothing jams a non issue.
-In cold weather doesn't hurt the hands like the stock fore end does.
-smaller diameter, I have a bum left hnad, it makes holding/gripping the shotgun much easier.

We just put this one on our store demo shotgun.

I'm not a big fan of railed fore grips, so this was a great solution.

Hogue. Don't recall what I paid or where I bought it.

I like it because it doesn't interfere with the side-saddle, doesn't pinch my little finger like the old corn cob police forend did sometimes and gives me a better grip in wet weather than anything else I've tried.

It's a Fab Defense 870 forend. I bought it from a great CGN dealer HiCal. I believe it was around $80. Rails are sturdy but like I said if you don't add a forend grip be prepared for some discomfort.

Another vote for Hogue here. It is tough to beat for price, comfort, and performance.

It is also short enough to allow you to access the magazine tube when the action is open.

Regards,

Chizzy

I have this one from Brownells made by Command Arms on one of Canada Ammos grizzly shotguns and rather like it. $60 U.S.

forends

Totally depends on what u want the stock for??

For actually shooting the gun and general handling the Hogue is prolly the best bet. Very comfortable, tacky surface is easy and positive to hold on when shooting and cycling. it is also very low profile so clears clothing, accessories and other ####e well. Very snag proof as well.

The Rem police and Speedfeed synthetics are also a good go for the same reasons and are a good bet. They have decent grooves to hold onto for shooting and cycling as well.

If ya want or need to hang stuff off of yer forend then you obviously need to go to something designed for that. I personally don't think much of that concept and they make one hell of a "fishing lure" when handling/cycling and actually shooting the gun but a lot of the time "guns are for fun" and if it floats yer boat no bashing from this camp!

Lastly if you wnat/need your gun to be ultra low profile/snag proof/compact the older round synthetics or an old Rem corn cob style wood stock are great!
These stocks are very compact and are Very snagproof.
For example, if you use your gun for predator defense and it's purpose is to be pulled out and used in a hurry to maintain your foodchain spot these are def the way to go.
Whether it's tuggin it out of your sleeping bag when you're in it, out of a scabbard or case, from a pack or slung from a non ready position the LAST thing you need is for the stock or any other part of the gun getting hung up or snagging. An 870 with one of these forends, a plain buttstock and NO other acc mounted to it handles like a bar of soap which is pretty comforting when it's go time.

I've got examples of all of these stocks on various shotguns and they all work well for different applications.
