Favorite animal to eat or hunt

for the table.....
Coastal mountain blacktail deer
Elk
Moose
mule deer
whitetail
in that order
actual hunting
I think the same but i have only hunted elk 4 times and only got an animal on one of those trips. I've only taken 3 or 4 whitetail over the years and not while i was purposefully whitetail hunting. I make my annual pilgrimage into coastal blacktail country though, hunting those deer never gets old for me and i wouldn't miss it for anything.

To hunt and eat, moose then elk.

90 percent of my deer gets turned to sausage, usually eat the backstraps and do a bit of jerky as well. I do enjoy hunting them, but some years I don't even go whitetail hunting, and I have only ever gotten a few mule deer. Much easier to hunt mule deer then whitetail, around her anyway. They just stand there and look at you.

1. Moose is constantly the best for me.
2. Early season (September) whitetail and mule deer
3. Sitka blacktail at the end of August
4. Elk

I’ve had really good black bear too - blueberries were so thick that year that his fat seemed to have a bluish hue.

I like ruffed grouse too - breast flattened with a meat hammer and done to medium rare in a skillet.

Deer heart tartar is also fantastic.
