Just wondering for IPSC what holster do you like best and why? I welcome all opinions and suggestions. I don't fancy any particualr design, but do prefer a race-type. I am leaning towards the Ghost or DAA Racemaster, but can I do just as well with a Kydex for a fraction of the price? Thanks in advance for any input. Thanks!

The only time a holster is going to make a difference in your overall scores is when you are consistently in the top 95%-100% of the leader board... and even then I don't think it'll affect your scores all that much.
Case in point, JPD the 2009 Nationals in Production (with a Shadow) with about a 20% difference between him and second place. He was using a BladeTech DOH kydex holster. In addition, there is virtually zero chance that you'll drop your gun (out of the holster) with a BladeTech, as seems to happen at least once at the major matches by "experienced" shooters using race style holsters.......

It was actually about 11.64%,...between JPD and 2nd place Clint M. (but still a large %)
I have a Bladetech and a GHost,...the Ghost is slightly faster for my liking. It makes little difference if you miss your first shot,,...and JPD ever misses....LOL
It may save on the finish of the gun to go with a race holster. Sometimes the finish rubs in certain areas....not all pistols, but some.
THe ghost has many moving parts, and the BT has none. Ghost costs twice the amount. Bt is nearly 100% reliable (I saw someones holster lose 2 screws this weekend, he was close to losing the gun)
BTW,...I had the Tek lok,...and although it is quick to put on and off,.it is floppy. I would justget the belt DOH.
I have both - SR and TecLock; SR DOH was bought 2-3 years ago for USPSA and TecLock about 2-3 weeks ago for IDPA. Both are rock solid on the belts, different belts thou. I believe TecLock was redesigned and improved not long ago by BT. No issues with mine.
I have been looking at mag holders to go with the Bladetech. Is there an advantage to single or double mag holders in IPSC? The bladetech singles aren't cheap.
I am also looking for a dealer in Western Canada for Bladetech. Not that I have a problem supporting the East I just believe in buying close to home so the shops remain open.

I was using a CR speed but have parked it for this year. The Ghost I'm using now seems to work better for me. The CR require you "pull" the gun the same every time whereas the Ghost is more forgiving.
I'm probably one of those guys for whom is doesn't really matter since I"m not in the highest percentages. In fact the reason the CR was giving me troubles is probably that I don't have enough time to practive. But I do like to feel like my equipment works right - even if I don't.

Shot my first match with the Shadow today, I tried shooting it like my open gun and it showed in the scores,... but had a blast and it ran 100%. I used my CR Speed holster, but I had to use a "makeshift" muzzle peg, as I couldn't get the holster adjusted with the Arredondo platform that I have. It served me well, my buddy Mike showed up with his Bladetech, and I really liked it, and he is pleased with it thusfar. I might have to look at getting one. One steady response I have been getting from lots of shooters is "you won't have to worry about it falling out of a DOH" and it seems that most that use them have no handicap in the draw either, so it has really gotten me to thinking.
You should check out the IPSC stats website. It is enlightening when you combine the divisions.
Trevor (production) would have actually beat Jon G (Open),...although Jon tanked the 10rd steel+ 1 paper stage.
