Shot my 16 gauge drilling yesterday , and although I shot well all things considered, I was very surprised at the amount of recoil the load generated.
This load apparently is only 6,300PSI, 1 ounce of shot with 22.5 grains of Longshot and a SG16 wad in a Cheddite hull.
I kept the load at 22 grains even.
Now, bearing in my this is a very light gun, my 7625 loads I used the last time I shot pheasants and sharptails with it recoiled a lot less, but The load was 7/8oz..
I will certainly use the Longshot load for birds this fall as it crushed wobble trap clays with no issue even in the 30KPH winds we had .
Anybody got a favorite low pressure load for skeet or trap i their 16's using a readily available powder?
