Favorite Waterfowl Calls ??

What's your favorite waterfowl call ? 1. Duck 2. Canada Goose 3. Snow Goose ?

I have a pile of different call brands and models in various materials but my go to calls, the 4 on my lanyard and 1 extra I carry on every hunt are as follows.

Duck: Buck Gardner DU double reed poly-carb
Canada Goose: Lessers-Buck Gardner Grey Ghost (tuned myself to clear high pitch) acrylic
Greaters-Foiles Strait Meat Honker acrylic
Snow Goose: Buck Gardner Snow Storm acrylic
Foxpro Crossfire II (legal in SK)
Specklebelly Goose: Buck Gardner Speckulator acrylic

My two go to calls are Tim Grounds calls. A sweet meat mallard call and a poly card super mag goose call. Nothing fancy but they seem to convince a few birds here and there.

When did you lose the straight meat?! You were amazing sounding on that call! Good thing I am not one of those sound shooters or I'd have thought there was a flock running through the standing corn a few yards from me that day at SLO and emptied my Gold 10!! ;)
I'm still running the bourbon/water acrylic I bought from Heronk. I haven't heard from him in a couple seasons now? Be nice to know how he's doing?

Both my Grey Ghost and Strait Meat have nice deep grooves in the tone board now. Sure gives them a super rich realistic sound once those tone boards are broken in.

I lost touch with a lot of lads over the years...hope Ken and his father are doing well. I haven't owned a strait meat...I've got a foils show time though (it's still on the lanyard) tuned it up super loud for the long off birds.
Gotta love broken in guts on a call. My super mag is broken in nicely...sounds super goosy even with a reed that's starting to delam (I'm afraid to replace it)
If I remember correct the SLO hunt wrapped up with a dandy breakfast at the Mac. Gotta love buffet breakfast.

I guess my memory is a bit dim? That hunt was exactly 10 years ago this weekend! I did recall you having a Foiles call though! I never made it to the breakfast thanks to the pair I travelled down with but thats another story! I do recall a room in the motel with 16 goose hunters doing a jam session!! God it sounded like a flock of 1,000+ birds spiralling down into the motel!! LOL

Wish I could find a copy of that jam session...I know it was recorded. Sounded awesome but I bet there was some unhappy people Lmao. Good times.
