For me the reticle should draw your eye naturally to the center. So ones like Bushnell LRTS has, that are not symmetrical, are out. Makes no sense to me. I struggle with the BDC's I currently have. Hate them. Need something that can accurately give you fine hold overs for wind, and not too cluttered overall. Was just out shooting 718 yards the other day in a 6.5-10 mph wind at 2:30. My silly Viper horizontal dot is way too far to accurately hold over with any degree of accuracy. So I dialled the wind in.
For me, FFP of SFP need to draw your eye to the center, be uncluttered, have a way to hold for wind in the .2mil range. The reticles Jerry posted in the FFP thread are an example for me, of an easy to read, draw your eye to the center reticle.
