Hi,just a couple pics of a faz Mk4 #2.Friend at work gave to me.Its all matching (bolt,mag,stock,bayo and sheath)Has a mint bore with very minimal bluing wear.My research indicates it falls under the so called Irish contract run,based on the serial number.She shoots very well,2.5 inch groups at 100 with fed blue box 180.Charge of 41 grins varget under a siera 180 .312 Spitzer yielded similar results.Tried giving him money for it but he would have none of it,I'm going to give it 10 coats of blo and clean it real well and put it away for my son.In 20 years he will have something!

You have a very good friend.Take him and his family out for a nice dinner to show him how much you appreciate the gift. If it costs less than $500.00 you made off like a bandit.
Don't give it 10 coats of BLO. just 1 or 2 drinks of raw linseed oil sparingly. Just enough to freshen it up a bit.That many coats of BLO will just make it look like a tart with neon lipstick on.

That's a good friend! Stack some ammo with it for your son. 20 years from now who knows what the state of .303 br will be.

^ This. Under very close scrutiny, my slight 15 year old son was shooting factory loads. (really watch butt placement and cheek weld with the little ones) At the time my 11 year old son wanted to shoot .303 as well but dad intervened. The sks was more than enough for him at that time.

He is 5 months old,I've got awhile to wait.he will have all the major player rifles though.

Yep, there's starting them young and then there's too young for "that" gun. My kids were shooting .22 single shots at maybe 7-8 years old and enjoying it.

My 8 and 11 year old grandkids had a hoot with a Ross Cadet and .22shorts. Start with something that won't turn them off and work up.
