I'm looking at a Fazakerly Refurb just out of the wrap right now, what is a fair price for one of these? I'm fairly certain it is one of the irish contract ones, as the serial is in what I've heard is the right range(330,000's). Seriously tempted because its sooooooooo nice, but Im on a limited budget and a pre WW1 SMLE or Longbranch No4(can these be had for under 300 bucks?) were on the list in front of this one...All the info I have found so far is from american sites which seem a little confused, so a little info would be appreciated! Also, if you were in my slippers right now, which would you pick up?
cheers,ollie

I believe it is PF33****...not sure how many digits are in there, but it sounds to my slightly informed self that it is in the right range for the Irish Contract ones, appartently picked up from SIR about 10 years ago still all wrapped up and in cosmo...

Off the top of my head I think that the Irish batch did start with PF. After that there was another batch of around 16,000 that started with UF. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Other than being in unissued condition, these really have no historical significance to the collector. The "irish contract" really doesn't mean anything, the contract was cancelled and they were never delivered. A nice condition WWII longbranch would be more desireable and certainly alot cheaper........

Not so much with the PF but the UF batch of approx 16,000 was the last run of new #4's made in the UK (1955). I'm not sure if any new #4's where made anywhere after that. I have a 1950 Longbranch that is close to new condition and a 1955 UF Fraz that is still in the grease. I should really get a 1940's Longbranch to go with my Inglis Hi-power though.

my irish no4 303 doesnt shoot well is that the norm? ( in my opion poor groupng at 100m from prone. )
its serial # pf 324### , also marked no4mk2 (f) was told the f MEANT it was repaired? any info /comments most welcomed

You should just sell it to me:D cheap!!:D
How many rounds down the pipe? If it is still fairly new, It may just shoot not too well, until it is broken in a little (couple hundred rounds?)

thanks not fer sale.............bought it from lever arms way.....1985 ish, ..back fer 150$ then a month later they when nutz an were 300$ a piece.........could be the breakin thing, but i got a no5 jungle very worn and an indian smle made in 1944 wich do a lot better on the range. except the indian smle has a bit sticky extraction thing on the go with fired casings .
