Features, add-ons and extras you wouldn't want to be without.

I like my hunting rifles to have a light, crisp trigger pull in the 2.5-3 lb. range, and
fitted with either a good peep sight or fixed power scope w/post reticle. I don't
use a sling when hunting and pass on shots at big game beyond 100yds.
Most of my hunting rifles have exposed hammers or bolts equipped with a
cocking piece on the striker. IE: Rossi M92 and Winchester M94, Mosin-Nagant, Lee Enfield & Cooey M39.
These allow me to silently #### or uncock the rifle when needed.

For shootin' varmints, the sky's the limit for rifle add-on's that are proven performers,
such as Harris bipods, big bolt knobs, quality glass and mounts, trick stocks & pillar bedding
etc. Hell, an Olympic target rifle makes a great varmint remover.

It's all up to the shooter to decide what he/she needs for a particular use.

I know what I like, just getting a feel of what are the things other Canadian hunters like. Our conditions are a lot different than in Texas or Wyoming etc. I agree the Buttler Creek scope caps are great, and clear glass is more important than magnification to me. I like wood stocks, a rifle on the heavy side, a bolt action and a trigger about 3 lbs. (although I do need to get myself another lever gun, I regret selling it now) Mags aren't a necessity but a nice touch if available, I don't carry slung, so I don't really have a need for padded slings, and don't have any use for a bipod (my rifles are heavy enough and they mess with the balance and I can't think of a shot I've ever taken from prone while hunting). I also like having irons on my guns for the most part. .30 cals in the woods and I love my 257WBY in the open.

Thanks for the feed back so far, keep it coming.

Let there light!!!

I love light guns, light weight light-gathering scopes(<10x), light n crisp triggers(Jewell and others).

All this in Heavy hitters......and must extremely accurate.

Oh, I love muzzle brakes too, because brakes avail these features to the masses. Just tell your anti-brake Buddy/Spotter/Guide to put down their purse and put in some earplugs.

All the stuff we used to pay 1000's/lb for.... and get for <$1000 today.

Wow, we're spoiled ;)
