February Purchases

Just received my Mosin from westrifle

1939 Izhevsk

Its very nice. Stock is great, very few dings and handling marks. Rifling is good but not sharp. I'll try and post a pic of the bore once I clean it out and get a better camera (crappy iPhone pic).

Vive la France!

Very, very nice Lebel, Claven2.

In keeping with the Gallic tone set by Claven2, I have my own French beauty to show off this month.

Thanks to a swap with a great CGNer, I'm now the proud owner of the Berthier rifle pictured below.

Interesting Berthier - is that turned-down bolt matching? Also, do you have pics of the receiver rollstamp and of the front stacking swivel? It looks (from a distance) like a Colonial Tirailleurs Senegalais Mle 1907 with its upturned stacking hook and bent bolt handle...

It could also be a regular 1907-15 with a non-standard bolt.

We need to start a French rifle thread :) I've owned a great many French rifles, at one time I collected them seriously, but many of those have since been sold. I now have a few WW1 pattern French rifles though which I love dearly!

Here here! I only have 4, but I really like them. Now I believe the Triailleurs Senegalais Mle 1907 had a front band similiar to the Mle 1892 Mosqueton d'Artillerie with the button style bayonet lug, but I could be mistaken.

Hi all

Here is for your delight "Rusty" the Lee Enfield. First saw the poor thing at the local hunting store 1 year ago. Decided to pass. But I got back there today and the owner made me an offer I could not refuse. I'll test various methods of de-rusting a bore with this one.... Rifling looks sharp, but is hidden under rust. If I can make it shoot I'll make a full stock for this one.

And the barrel plugged with a cast bullet and full of Evaporust

Well, if you insist...

Happy to share additional photos. Unlike others here (clear from the fresh French rifle #### thread now started) this is my only, and first, French arm.

Bolt/entire rifle is matching. 1909-dated.
