Has anyone been able to get and try out the new Federal American Eagle AE3006M1 load, which is made especially for the Garand? At least one store here in Edmonton has ordered this ammo twice from Federal and has been unable to get it. I wondered about other parts of Canada or the U.S.

Many thanks!

Haven't see the stuff, but always willing to try something new.

Original Ball M2 was loaded with a 152-grain FMJ flatbase bullet at a nominal 2800 and was loaded with a medium-quick powder: IMR 4895 to be precise.

Full specs on all US military SAA adopted since 1903 in back of the 6th Edition, COTW.

Federal is now selling two types of Garand specific ammo, with 150 gr and 168 gr match bullets. I've not yet seen it in a store. Other that a small stash of DA 55 and LC 69 ball for special occasions, I handload exclusively for my Garands. Stick to 150-173gr bullets and IMR 4895 or IMR 4064 powder and handloading is definitely the way to go.

FE3006M = Match ammo with Sierra Matchking bullet

FE3006M1 = Garand loaded ammo with 150gr FMJ

A76251M1A = M1A loaded ammo with 168gr FMJ

I checked out Federal ammo's website, here is the address's of their Canadian distribution agentshttp://www.federalpremium.com/general/our_company/international_divisions.aspx#3

Just click on Canadian distributions agents,..there is a guy in Oakville, Ontario, and another in Maple Ridge B.C.

Maybe if we light a fire under their as*, they might get some AE3006M1 ammo for us Garand Guys..hope this helps

I have been checking out some U.S.ammo supplier sites, and have noticed that Federal AE3006m1 ammo is very often sold out, thoughhttp://www.cheaperthandirt.com list this ammo at $19.89US, ..and i can see this ammo being even harder to obtain, after the new10 part miniseries of the Marine Corp "The Pacific" ,due next weekend along with the price of M1 rifles,..this will bring on a feeding frenzy for these old warhorses and the ammo to feed them..!

Thanks to all you lads. I bought a McCann gas plug so that I can shoot regular .30-'06 150-gr. ammo, but I would still like to find some M2 milspec ball. Ellwood Epps was SOL too.
