hey Rimfire Sub-forum users! this is a notice or a message if you will, for members who live in and around Calgary. the Basspro at Crossiron Mills has 325rnd boxes of nice Federal Auto-match on sale for $18.99. and they have three full shelves of it out on the floor. as of posting this thread, this product has been placed on the floor only two days ago. like I said, three full shelves so lots and lots. I purchased two boxes yesterday - I was the first to take from the shelves - then I went back today to buy eight more boxes, plus another 3 for a friend. also they had an additional surprise. overnight, they had placed out 500rnd bricks of CCI Blazer for like 20 bucks or something, so I bought two of those as well. I think they still had 10 or 12 more bricks towards the back of the bottom shelf.

there is something I noticed about the Auto-match stuff. its a 40 grain bullet at 1200fps. the gold boxed Federal HV Match that comes in boxes of 50 has the exact same bullet weight and muzzle velocity. I also have an example from either box of Federal product and they appear identical. same bullet type, unwashed lead round nose. exact same seating depth. are they the exact same loading? I don't feel that the gold box HV Match is true match/competition grade .22lr ammo, but it is pretty consistently accurate out of my 10/22 and this Auto-match fodder I stocked up on seems to shoot much the same way...I think 'Nutz in the Calgary area should buy as much of this stuff as possible!

I just now found out about ammosupply. a seriously awesome price for a case. twice as much ammo as the similarly priced lockable cases of Mini-mags they sell at Canadian tire. does the ammosupply deal come in a large cardboard box or lockable plastic ammo case? also not everyone has a credit card - I do not - so I prefer having a real storefront to shop at.

Tempting, but I bought a bunch of the Automatch from another Calgary sponsor and have been very disappointed with it. Thought it would be an inexpensive alternative to minimags for my Advantage Arms Glock 17 kit but it simply doesn't come close. Lots of FTF and FTE in both my gun and my buddy's Sig 226 classic 22. Seems to work OK in my SR22, but not as even as good as the cheap Federal blue box stuff. I'd be curious to know if the CCI BLAZER is the good stuff, or the crap that was outsourced to federal. There are threads on here about that. I bought some of the crap Blazer in the past and it's only good for my bolt gun...forget about running it in any semiautomatic.

in regards to the Blazer - the cases all sport the CCI head stamp and the box itself has printed

it shot pretty well today. I may go back tomorrow and buy two more bricks

"You can pick up in person and pay with cash or debit I believe."

I may have to look into a case of Auto-match as well. can't speak for others, but my 10/22s have thus far liked it. the proof is in the pudding...

Is the Blazer in clear plastic or white plastic trays? Or bulk?

each little round has so much potential.

Has anyone seen any of the 525 blue box federal bulk packs recently? I haven't been able to find any for at least a year.
New Walmart opened here yesterday, and has a price tag for them but just an empty shelf above.

I'm looking for some too. I stocked up a few years ago when they were on sale for 10.99 at the local co-op. Should have bought more, only 3 boxes left from 20.
