Federal Automatch 22 Long Rifle Ammunition, 40 g

I prefer federal 525, but have had pretty decent experiences with federal automatch. It's relatively cheap so I wouldn't expect amazing accuracy. I think if you're looking for accuracy you are probably better off buying something a bit more expensive.

just wondering if it's work it for 325rd? going for about $30.5 if it performed like a match bullet as it said auto match I would try it. But if 525 bulk blue box shoots better then I'd just buy that.

most of us know the 525 bulk pack has good results

I prefer AM to the 525, but it is not match anything. It's quality plinking ammo and seems to run good in my 10/22 and I hunted with it in my Ruger bolt. The only way to know is to try it out.
I get about 3/4" groups not including flyers, and is a bit cleaner than the 525. For that price though you could almost get CCI sv, I bought 2 flats of AM a while ago for under 20/box should be good for a couple three years.

This is one of my favourite types of .22 ammo. It tends to cycle very well in most semi autos - second only to CCI Mini-Mag in that regard, and it is significantly cheaper than Mini-mag. It is definitely not match grade, but in a reasonably accurate .22 it will generally group around 1/2" at 50 yards with the exception of a few flyers. Here is a very typical 10 round group at 50 yds (one big hole plus a few flyers):

I picked up some also. If it's anything like the 40gr Game-Shok, it will shoot well in my rifles. I have better luck with Federal rimfire ammo than Rem or Win. I don't buy premium rimfire, defeats the purpose far as I'm concerned

Different guns will like different ammo, my savage mkii F loved this stuff while my new savage mkii heavy barrel prefers mini mags (and with slightly larger groups, golden bullets which is what I shoot now because they're much cheaper). Buy one pack, if it shoots well, buy many more packs

It has shot very well out of the 6 rim fires I have. This includes theee different Ruger 10/22's, two Remington 597's and an old Mossberg 151k. I have buddies using it in bolt actions and in Marlin semi's and it works good. I like the American Eagle hollow points about the same and for a bit better I do like the Mini Mags. But for the price, they are good.

how is it? is it match quality is it on par with Federal match ?

None of the Federal I have shot is very good. I think the only good Federal rimfire is the Ultra Match. It is potentially good, although I have not shot it, because it is not made by Federal. It is made in Germany by RWS and put in a Federal box. RWS, and in particular RWS R-50 is good match ammo. Not sure if the Federal boxed stuff is R-50 or a lower quality RWS version.

Cycles just fine in my Beretta Model 87 pistol and Marlin 795. It's my regular, everyday ammo. If $ didn't matter, would probably go with Mini-mags, but Fed AM is a lot cheaper, goes bang (almost) always, and cycles my semis without fail, which works for me. I find it a lot cleaner than anything Remington, too.
