hello i pick some of these up today for moose hunting. they are 170 gr bullets. after taking a closer look at the energy and fps im second guessing it. at the muzzle it has 2000 fps and 1510 ft lbs. at 100 yards it has 1740 fps and 1145 ft lbs. at 200 yards it has 1510 fps and only 860 ft lbs. the reason i picked this is because it has 50% less recoil. its not for my use its for a kid im taking out this year and a regular 308 is too much for him. it tested this in water and it penetrated almost 3 big anti freeze jugs, thats around 27 inches of water. with amazing expansion. the first jug was destroyed and the second had some rips in it. the third had a entry hole and the bullet dinted the back of the jug. my question is will these talk a moose under 100 yards with a lung shot? i know a 223 will take a moose with proper shot placement. the kid shooting is a pretty good shot and can shoot a 3'' group at 100 yards with these. but if he get excited i guess any thing can happen. lol
thanks.

Those loads are a recreation of the 30-30. A 170g bullet at around 2000fps. The 30-30 has been used for many a moose. Use them the same way you would use a 30-30 (no further than 150yards) and you will be fine.

When you bought them how did you figure they made them recoil less? Only one way to do it: make the load milder.

Don't worry much though. At 100 yards they will do just find if put into the boiler room.
