Hello. I am looking to use the federal fusion this year for moose bear and deer. i will be using it in a ruger M77 Mark 2 .308. I was just wondering if anyone had used these fusion and what they have to say about them.

I tried one box of them 180 grain in one of my 30-06's. They were ok for accuracy on paper and would probably get the job done on the game you want to use them on. If it was me and moose is on the menu I would look to one of the federal premium loads in 308.

I've been using Fusion in .308 the last few years. Every deer I've shot with it has dropped like it was hit with Thor's hammer. The only other thing I shot at was a bear and I missed :(

All the bullets were recovered just under the hide on the opposite side, all had expanded perfectly. You cannot beat this stuff for the price.

My wife shoots a 7mm rem mag with 150 gr Fusions. A very accurate longrange bullet. I figure Fusions in 308 will do just as good.

I used 165'a in my 300wm one year. shot .75 at one hundred...rifle wasn't really a hunting rifle but used it as such anyways. Drilled a dear with it.......hit the dirt and never got up.

For moose....with good shot placement shouldn't have a problem, but I would probably go to a controlled expanding bullet like an interbond, something with a heavier jacket just to be safe.

I used a 165 grain Fusion to take my first ever whitetail this past season. On paper the Fusion weren't too bad for accuracy. I took my buck at about 125 yards and put it into his heart. It walked about 15 feet and laid down for the last time. Nice entry and small exit wound...bullet performed very nicely. Keep in mind that although my deer wasn't a true Saskatchewan monster, it was still a large, healthy animal. IMO it performed very well and the affordable price is also a plus!!!

I am going to play around with different rounds this year in hopes of finding the magic bullet that my Savage 30-06 loves best. If I can't find anything that beats the Fusion then it will remain my bullet of choice in '08.

I took two Whitetail this last fall with the Fusion 180gr in 30-06 and experienced excellent performance. The buck was 330 yards broadside, the bullet exited leaving a 1 1/2" - 2" hole. The doe was a quartering shot at 255 yards, it penetrated about 20 inches punching through the off shoulder, the bullet was found under the hide, it weighed 162 grains, well mushroomed. The buck ran about 100 ft with shot out lungs, the doe dropped in its tracks. Interestingly, the Fusion website list this as a deer bullet but, from my admittedly small sampling, I wouldn't have a problem using this bullet on a moose.

Cheers
