i tried some on the weekend and my gun LOVES this ammo. i usually just buy the cheapest I can find but these rounds are awesome and so much more accurate. only probablem is they are quite expensive. my friend gave me a box to try. I called some of gunshops in town and they gave me a price of $12 a box  . thats wee bit more then i want to pay. anyone know of a place that sells the stuff for cheaper??

or if not any sugestions for similar ammo with a slightly less price tag??

Yeah, I've used some and its good but I perfer Lupa club match. Its even more expensive than the Federal. I also get good results from Elay club extra which is about the same price as Federal 711b. You might try the Remingtion 22 target which is cheaper and some 22's shoot it very well indeed. On the whole though I have found that if you want same hole accuracy from a 22 rimfire you have to pay the price for target grade ammo. Sometimes it goes on sale and that's the time to buy a case of it but make sure your gun likes it before you do would be my advise for what its worth. Hope this helps.

Federal Premium Gold Metal Target.....at $12/box? Thats like $120 for a brick  . The stuff retails for ~$32/brick at Wholesale in town. My Vostok pistol loves it as well. Being a single shot, it doesn't eat ammo too fast.
I find Reminton target and Winchester T22 are both pretty good for the price, ~$25/brick. I use Win T22's for silhouette.
