Federal primers

Large magnum federal 215 or 215 M primers have been particularly rare in recent years. Have any of you found an alternative?

I stopped reloading calibers that require large rifle primers about three years ago. Have enough 223 reloaded ammo once that is gone have a couple boxes of some factory ammo that shoots very well in my rifle. Getting out of the game of reloading is my solution

They have popped up in the last week at a couple retailers that support the forum, do a search and see if any are still around.

After going through the big shortage in 2009 I vowed that would never happen to me again and it hasn't, people will call me a hoarder but I tend to think of it as being prepared, I have not been short on any reloading supplies since or will be going forward.

After the gulf War shortages, I stocked up. Mostly Fed and Win, though I do have some cci and rem small rifle stuff. Unless they bring back machine gun shoots, I'm likely good for a couple of decades. While I have found individual load differences with primers (ie: a certain load is slightly more accurate with X primer), I can certainly find good loads in all the cartridges I shoot (and that's a lot) with others. - dan
