I just took my latest toy to the range for the first time. I bought it second-hand from a fellow Gun Nutter. It was in amazing condition, like it had never been out of the box before. I am happy with it except for one issue and I'm not sure if it's a brand of ammo or the newness of the rifle, or the design of the mag but the first two rounds out of a full mag do not want to feed into the chamber without a 50% jam percentage. rounds 3-5 are a piece of cake.
I as yet haven't tried other brands of ammo as selection in my town is limited. I shot a box of 50 today of CCI Gamepoint 20 grain. They look like they should feed without issue. Is there anybody who has had issues with Savage 93's not feeding? I suspect it's a the magazine itself. Does anybody have an after-market mag for these rifles? a 10-shot maybe?
From what I can see, the fwd tip of the bullet does not want to angle upwards to properly feed into the chamber when the mag is full and spring pressure is at the maximum. A temporary fix is to only load 3 rounds at a time, but that is a PITA.
I'm all ears if somebody has any suggestions I missed
Thanks all
