Has anyone used one of these? Questar has both brands for sale but they look the same.

Obviously it's not an Aimpoint Micro, but it is the size I'm looking for and I like the manual brightness settings compared to the FastFire auto-brightness.

I guess the question is, is it a cheaper aimpoint copy, or is it a $49.99 chinese crap red dot with a brand name on it?

Exactly. Cheaper doesn't necessarily mean bad. My Burris FastFire is working well so far, but it won't co-witness on one of the new VZ rails as well as the round design of the Micro-type sights.

The Bushnell TRS-25 looks to be about the same size but of a slightly different design.

My impression of the sight when I did the research several months ago was that it is a "$49.99 chinese crap red dot with a brand name on it."

You bugger, you better not have one of the wolverine rails already :D

Thanks. Did you have a chance to use/handle one at all?

Not yet, just getting my ducks in a row.:) If I could squeeze out the $700+ right now, I'd go with the Micro.

If I can't get any positive feedback, I'll run the FastFire or see if my Comp M2 will co-witness with a low ring.

Didn't handle, but came across a site a while ago where an individual took one apart. It was made quite cheaply (tape holding wires in place, glass not fitted well, etc.)

The conclusion was that it'd be a decent range optic if cheaper.
It will work and do what you want, but, it's not even close to the quality of what you'd expect from Eotech or Aimpoint.

Basically, they are not worth the price they are commanding.

I also did a bunch of reading on the SIG forums and the majority of the SIG FanBoi's were upset that SIG was putting their name on the optic which the majority felt was garbage and cheapened the SIG name.

Thats a bummer the Bushnell TRS-25 appears to be the same optic.
they appear functional but a FAIL wouldn't be out of te question. I guess it depends on your applications.

They are withing the $200 range and I was somewhat impressed, but I think that it would be better to take the Bushnell $$$ and add it to the Aimpoint T1 fund!
