Hey guys.

Looking for some first-hand feedback on the Benelli supernova tactical with the telescoping stock. Sold my semi-auto competition 12GA as I wanted to get something more versatile. I want a shotgun that I can take hunting (want to try duck/geese this year), I can take to the range for some fun, and I could even trust/use in a home defense situation. The Benelli supernova keeps getting my attention with it's durability, short throw, ability to clear the chamber with shells still in the tube, and ability to become very small. Ontop of all that it's on sale right now at a few places.. That being said I am open to other suggestions.

Can you all speak about your experiences with the Supernova? Videos on Youtube are limited especially for the telescoping stock, and I always love hearing what all you have to say.

Thanks in advance.

*Edit* Yes, I kmow the 14 inch barell is not suitible for anything but tactical shooting but thats the only one that comes with the pistol grip and collapsing stock. I do plan on buying the longer barrell

Great shotgun if you can live with a 3.5" action travel and a relative lack of spare parts and aftermarket support.

I agree with this. The Benelli is a sleeper, the magazine tube isolation button on the pump is very slick for doing slug/buck changeovers. It's very accurate with slugs even with the short barrel and irons. You can't go wrong it is a quality pump that can handle a walloping 3.5. I would pick this over a Remington and Mossberg all day, once you have a mesa shell carrier rail on it with an Aimpoint down the road what else do you really need? Yes an integrated flash light pump would be nice to see in the form of aftermarket support but its more of a want than a need. The gun handles and shoots very well, it has a nice trigger in it, it strips down easy for cleaning and maintenance(not that it needs much), 9.8 out of 10 only because there's a lack of 1913 mounting options for accessories. If you go to a longer barrel and longer magazine tube it will definitely hold its own shooting birds. We are lucky to be able to own such a cool shorty from factory. Get it and don't look back.
