Feeding the m1 carbine...

If you look at SFRC, they have Prvi Partizan 32.99 per 50rds

Local for me, I beleive was $1/1rd, not sure what the gun show will bring.

It's a fun gun though, like a big 10/22.
 
Unfortunatley they are expensive to feed, happily they are easy to reload for. just stick to round nose 110 gn bullets and don't try to load hot, the gun will break. Stick to the factory velocity, and H110 i believe was the original powder
 
Reloading is the way to go. I used to have a really nice IBM with 19" barrel. Shot hundreds of cast bullets with it. 120gr RCBS RN bullet and 4227 powder. While I no longer have the rifle I calculated the cost of those reloads with today's component costs (including tax)- $0.15 per round.
 
"...cost per 20?..." Usually sold in 50 round boxes. May be somewhat difficult to find these days due to the rifle being restricted. Marstar wants $224.25 per 500 for Winchester FMJ's. Sold out though.
"...load hot, the gun will break..." Nope. My load is half a grain under max. No problems a bath didn't fix in 30 years.
"...H110..." A Hodgdon powder made for the carbine, after W.W. II. Original powder was Hercules .30 Carbine Powder and Western Cartridge Co. 'Ball Powder'.
 
Win 296 H/L's and ROK ball.

Down here in the US , CMP gives honorable mention to Winchester 296 handloads and ROK surplus ball as the gold standards.
That tracks with my personal experience as well.

Well, i've seen a couple of carbine bolts, with the lug sheared off from folk trying to turn the 30 carbine into a 308. Stick with a powder that shares a burning rate with the 2 mentioned above, and issue velocity and your good to go.
 
I use 110 gr RN with H110 powder. As said easy to reload.
Most sporting goods shops with have factory ammo in 110 Gr.
Also not all M1's are restricted.

I know what you mean. Here's a picture of my brother (a couple of years ago) and some of the .303 brass we threw away...:bangHead:
