Anyone have any information on the FEG FP9? I know it's a Hungarian copy of the Hi-Power with a ventilated rib, while the P9R - also called the PJK-9HP - is a double/single action version usually with a hooked trigger guard, but that's it.

Is it just a budget Hi-Power or is there something that would prevent parts interchangeability with other models?

If you have a ventilated rib it's a FEG FP9 Hi-Power clone.(same as the FEG FP9M but with the addition of the vent rib). The fit and finish of these guns is often very good although it's been reported that sometimes the internals are a little rough. From my understanding most of the parts will interchange with a FN produced Hi-Power although I've read some of the safety parts are different.

The DA/SA version you refer to is more of a Smith and Wesson 59 copy.

I know Questar brought in a bunch of the FP9M about 3 years ago. I think they were selling at something like 399 before they put the last of them on sale at 299.....someone may correct me on those prices. I don't know if they had any of the ventilated rib models.

FEG is also reputed to be the source of the counterfeit FN marked Hi-Powers that turn up from time to time. (FN roll marks but non FN serial numbers) These guns have been reported to be quite rough inside with a lot of tool marks etc.

FEG has been out of business for a while now I can't remember the dealer who got a bunch of them eventually throwing them out on sale at a very tempting price but with no warranty (or store warranty only). They made these BHP clones as close as they can get to the original. So your luck is from resellers only, nothing brand new unless there are some importers able to locate some NOS (New Old Stock) stash from some eastern bloc hoarders.
