I did an Internet search and this is what I found. I hope it helps. Regards, Richard
"I looked at an FEG Wallam 48. The story with it is that it was made for
King Farouk, who was overthrown before delivery, putting the undelivered
gun(s) on the market.
The gun looks like a Walther PP and strips the same way. It is a .380 ACP.
It is not engraved, so I would rule out the monarch as recipient, as well as
any high ranking generals.
The slide is marked, IN ENGLISH, "9mm Brow. Short". It also has a falcon
with wings folded at sides, seen from the front with head erect and looking
to its right (my left). It looks like a 5 point star above its head. The
bottom 2 points are extended down about twice as long as the other 3 points.
There is a border around the falcon and star, which is oval. At the bottom
of the border, there is what looks like a banner, with some lettering in it,
but is illegible. The crest is about 7 mm high and 5 mm wide. On the
barrel, seen through the ejection port, when the gun is in battery, are the
words "6 TONS" and "NT".
I figure that the gun went to England, since it is marked "6 TONS" & "NT".
I don't know why the caliber is in English, unless it was never intended for
Egypt and King Farouk. It came from Hungary (non-English) and was allegedly
going to Egypt (non-English).
It comes with 2 mags, numbered to the gun, cleaning kit, cleaning rod and
gun, all in original wax paper. Also, the carboard box is blue and numbered
to the gun.
The gun appears unfired and has no documentation with it.
It is definitely an FEG Wallam 48, but also has that crest on it. Does
anybody know what or who it was made for?"
