BTW......triton im waiting to see some pics here..:evil:lol

I was going down the road when I saw this HUGE BUCK come out of the bushes behind me. Well, there was no way I was gonna let him get away, so I threw it into reverse and floored it...

Congrats, GeoTrekr. Great hunting story.
What type of fuel and tires were you using?

The fuel was just some cheap 'federal' stuff from PetroCanada. Also, the tires I used were synthetic and blued. I have a set of synthetic and stainless at home, but I find the blued set to be a little better in worse weather, contrary to popular opinion.

looks like it mushroomed quite well.

Was it a bang flop? Any tracking?

It worked out fairly well indeed. I'd say it was just under 95% weight retention! :D Unfortunately, I lost the guy after spending 3 hours trying to figure out which way he could've gone. There was blood, guts, and fur hanging off of the vegetation in every direction. To give you an idea, it's actually a white car when cleaned!

Damn shame, he was a real beauty...

I think aiming was spot on but you need higher velocity and/or go with a heavier projectile. You should get the deer next time, no problem.

LOL great thread. What kind of fuel... :D that made my drink go up my nose.

Redlaker, is it me or were you moving that deers tongue to pose it for pictures?!

that is exactly how the buck looked after we dragged it off the road, my friend was more worried about his truck than posing the deer while I took pictures

I've got as cute story, no pics though. several years ago, me and a buddy are driving around, and decide to head to the golf course, where the ritzy houses are. On the way down, a Jeep Cherokee is sitting with the four ways on. We get out to see if their ok, and it turns out a guy and girl in the Jeep just hit a doe. It was alive, but all messed up. I had a .22, but we know where that would go. So I had to sit there, and watch this thing suffer. But it gets better. When we get to the Jeep, he's on the phone with the cops. I asked her if they were ok? She said yes, but the police will be here soon to take the deer to the vet! :D Yeah, I won't go into details, but when the cop showed up, lets just say his vet was quicker and, um, shocking! I don't know what freaked her out more. The deer going to sleep, or when the cop grabbed the front legs, I grabbed the back and we dragged it off to the ditch, swung it a few times, and let her fly! :D Tree humpers are way cool, too! :D :D :D

Went out for white tails at Carrot Creek AB this weekend. While on the way to pick up my buddy's dad, I damned near rear ended one that ran out in front of my truck, then tried to outrun me. Jammed on the brakes...everything from the front seat was now on the floor. While we were going from one location to another later that day, we damned near caught another one with the bumper.....yeeesh!!! Of course, we didn't shoot anything all day, then on the way out.....legally after dark.....we drive by a private field half a kilometer from where were were hunting, and there had to be 40 of the beggars out there feeding. Some deer are smart...others....well......
