I am just being honest here (I am sure that I am not alone in this).
It is very hard to remain interested in (what is likely a good) item, when as a buyer you have to chase down prices and a non working dealer list off of awebsite from an ad...
especially with an item like this, where there are many many choices out there... making it harder to find info...you are likely loosing sales because of this ...
Even a suggested price or supporting dealer that ships so people don't have to chase info would help.
just my two cents from an interested consumer.
Thanks.

Yeah I'm sure an msrp exists. But it happens I found the price somewhere around $90 for the light alone. Pretty good tbh, and my favorite gun shop is also a dealer. Might get one of these.

It charges with a micro-usb cord; like a cell phone charger. I think I paid ~$100 after taxes and shipping. Very powerful light for its size, and you can adjust the brightness levels. I searched high and low for an appropriately sized, quality light that was mountable to a firearm and not crazy expensive. The brightness amazes me every time I use it and I love never replacing batteries.

Hey Waynetheman

The UC40UE will start around $86.00 and is available from several Authorized CGN dealers like:

This would be absolutely perfect if it ran on AA or 2xAA, instead of the CR123A, when swapping out the li-ion.

I used to feel that way until I picked up a CR123A/18650 light. It hasn't been a problem for me. In a pinch, you can find camera batteries at walmart and crappy tire that will work. Keep the 18650 charged and some CR123s for backup and you're all set. The high performance light industry is moving this way for a lot of reasons but I think part of it is the sheer amperage output potential of the lithiums, not just the voltage. I'm not that informed on lights and the tech but I made the switch and haven't looked back.

That and rechargeable batteries and lithium cells are less likely to leak and corrode inside your $80+ light potentially rendering it useless. Lithiums also have a much longer shelf life, and bought online in 10 packs can be much more economical. 18650s are what often make up laptop battery packs, so there is an economy of scale producing them.

I guess I should have said 'This would be absolutely perfect [for me] if it ran on AA or 2xAA...'

For backup purposes (obviously the USB-recharge li-ion is the primary fuel) I know that 2xCR123A will outperform AA in terms of current and runtime, yet I am streamlining everything I have for camping / SHTF to the AA cell (and/or micro-USB rechargeable) for space and convenience reasons; it is the most commonly available small battery out there. For my lights, Steripen, radios, and everything in between, I have sets of NiMH AAs on a USB-recharge rotation using one of these:

Just like not wanting to carry/stockpile numerous calibres of rifle, shotgun, handgun and varmint ammunition, I don't want to have to carry multiple types of batteries. To keep it simple and compact for my packs, it is AA batteries for the gear, and only 22LR and 12GA for things that go bang.

Every Fenix torch I have handled has been of excellent quality, and as soon as they have a multi-fuel model using li-ion rechargeable and AA cells, sign me up!

Will this unit charge any lithium 18650?
Is the battery that it comes with available for order as well?
