FERFRANS CRD Muzzle Device System

I like that the device slips onto your brake and seems to work extremely well. But this guy... blackwater patch. Shiny new gear. This guy is totally OAF

There's no problem with that. Good looking brake 3 ports with some top porting. Kind of resembles a Lantac Dragon/Surefire type

Stupid as #### if you ask me, heavy as hell too.

With at short barrel there's huge concussion coming of the front of your rifle from what I keep reading. So reducing that for other shooters around you might be nice. Plus a bit more weight up front might (if you're ultra-uber sensitive) help muzzle flip, correct? Just like a compensator/barrel weight on a pistol, right?

I don't think anyone asked you.

As warrior said the blast off an SBR is pretty big and when there's a bunch of people at the range why be a douche.

Also at 10oz or just over half a pound I don't think it'll stress your little arms. If it does maybe some push-ups are in order ?

LOL, you don't know who you're up against boy. Cut the bull####.

It's a stupid idea, it's way too damn heavy for what it is (a boat anchor at the end of the barrel really, might as well put something useful like a silencer if you're going to build a carbine as light as possible THEN put that weight up front), just get a Troy Claymore and be done with it for a fraction of the price and weight if you want to direct the blast off the pussies around you, or a KX3 if you're into spending $ for no reason.

My last two cent in this ####.

The entire point of these kinds of devices is for guys who have QD muzzle devices for their suppressors. For those times when you don't want to or cannot use the suppressor, a QD brake cover like this is nice to have to reduce the blast coming off a muzzle device on a short barrel.

It is not just about "the pussies around you", if you have to operate a braked SBR in an enclosed space or beside a wall or other hard object, the side blast off a brake will be so distracting as to reduce your ability to hold on target during firing.

The downside to these kinds of devices is twofold. The reduce the brake's ability to tame recoil and they produce a nice flash.

I would agree that 10 oz seems like a lot of weight for what is just an open piece of tube.

is it just me or does it seem the brake alone only has ports to the side. look at 1.40 of the video. all the blast is horizontal. even during the prone shooting it looks like he is almost forcing the rifle as low as he can get it. good salesman there.

beside, in the civie world, i shoot my shorties because they are loud and obnoxious. this would defeat that wonderful trait

10oz is the brake and CRD combined I think Suputin

Dietz is so tough online.

The CRD is really heavy, I wanted one first but they were back ordered, so in the mean time I bought the Griffin Armament blast shield. Just about a week ago the CRD's were back in stock so I ordered one, now I have both and the CRD feels twice as heavy as the Griffin blast shield.

The CRD does have a really nice locking mechanism, but it is very heavy

Also not to happy to see "made in Taiwan" on the CRD box :( American company out sourcing to Asia is not really my thing

FerFran is a firearms and ammunition manufacturer based in Cebu, Philippines. It provides weapons for the Philippine National Police and the Armed Forces of the Philippines - founded by brothers Ferdinand and Francis Sy.

The FerFran CRD comes as two pieces - a brake and a shield

If you've shot in a prone position, like from the lower three holes from a VTAC wall using an SBR you know that recoil mitigation and minimizing side blast would be highly desirable feature for any muzzle devices.

We do also carry the Griffin QD Blast Shield, which is a similar device, but more inline with a linear compensator which re-directs muzzle blast forward.

The Griffin QD does have an added benefit where it can be mounted to a standard A2 flash hider, as well as all Griffin MS4D muzzle devices

At SHOT Show 2015 LANTAC previewed their blast shield device as well - but we have yet to see it being offered.

Yeah Im not really knocking it, just sharing my experience buying both. I dont regret buying it, I will still be using it on another rifle. I will probably just keep the Griffin on my MK18 because I already have so many accessories on the rail its heavy enough.

I like the fact the Griffin you can choose between their 4 different muzzle devices to use the shield on. It even fit the standard DD Mk18 flash comp but had a little play in it.

Taiwan manufacturing is just a preference thing, I normally prefer Japanease, European, or North American products over things made in Asia. From past experiences

I ordered the CRD and the Griffin brake from you guys about a week ago. I would have ordered the shield from you too but you were back ordered at the time I purchased it from another supplier, but they didn't have the brake only the tactical comp. Was happy when the Email came notifying me you had stock again
