Hi everyone, just wanted to post my usual Silverdale groups :D

Just an update, my rifle was bedded and action worked (thanx Jerry )

Now this almost stock Savage 10fp shoots like a Laser

I'm posting few groups from September 5th at Silverdale (it was about 25C with wind from 5-15km/h and sunny)
you do the math, but I think it looks great
All pills loaded in LC brass with CCI BR2 + Varget + measured for ogive and Forster UltraMicrometer Seater....:)

I'm not sure if I should subtract the bullit hole diameter .308? from the group size...

This is my September 20th (Sunday) trip to Silverdale....and was it busy...but the weather was sunny and almost no wind....rifle had about 30 rounds through it before the best group of my LIFE

Jerry, thank you again, love the bedding and the bolt movement...I think your crown "fix" made an improvement :D

ps. A-max group (last one) was shot at 200 yards.....I had two more targets but I had to leave and couldn't wait till the target swap....:p

--those that were at Silverdale are my witnesses as I kept on bugging guys to see the groups..."you know who you are"

Sergei, I am so happy that the rifle is shooting this well.

When group sizes are reported, it should be center to center of the furthest holes in a group so yes, you will have to subtract the 308 (or 307 as some will suggest) from your measurement.

How many rds per group?

If your rifle is shooting in the 1's with 5rds, this puts it into the spooky accuracy level.

Whatever components you were using, BUY LOTS :)

Now to start pushing the groups further out. If you can maintain the near zero vertical, 1000yds, is going to be a no brainer. Just dial up 35mins and have at it.

Jerry

You have a hummer!

The gun shoots very well, stick with it and now you can become an even better shooter. Shoot when conditions are schitty and learn where those bullets fall for a given condition. Nobody gets to be a better shooter when they only shoot on calm days.

An uber-accurate gun is an essential tool for becoming a better shooter. Nobody gets better on a mediocre gun.

I have way more targets but if I have to re-size the image, take a pic, put a caliper, than upload and post and all.........it takes so long

I did post 5-group holes with 167Lapuas I was amazed as on a windy day they were not flying as well, but on a calm day.....boom
A-max and 155SMK's were the best for windy...
I did shoot 200 yards too, I have few targets....and the A-max 3-group was very neat with 2 pills cutting an "8"....and few 5-group shots....I didn't have many reloads on Sunday

They were all shot from the bipod too
for interested ones: 167 Lapua Match, 44.5 Varget, 2.219" ogive, neck unloaded .336 on LC brass, BR2 primers.....the ogive puts the pills into the rifling a little

I have yet to see a savage that didn't shoot really well. Looks like you found the perfect components for the gun. Whatever you are doing, do more of it. Congrats on the great shooting.
To be shooting .5 and under from outside to outside is like .1 which is freaky awesome.

I think my "death-grip" way of shooting off bipod started to work.....
